First off, this depends on the permanent residence (PR) application you're going for and the context. For example;
◾️Eligibility for Express Entry (Federal
Program) = Parent, Grandparent, Child, Sibling, Uncle, Aunt, Neice, or Nephew.
◾️Ranking System for Express Entry (Federal & Canadian Express Class) = Sibling
◾️Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) = This depends on the province but generally; Parent, Grandparent, Sibling, Uncle, Aunt, Niece, Nephew or First Cousin. In some cases, Friends & Distant Relatives.
Your child, spouse or common-law partner can not support you for PNP applications.
◾️Family Sponsorship = Child, spouse, common-law partner, sibling (orphan without a family member in Canada).
